Service is at the heart of GSL High School.
Each week we dedicate time to service in some way. Students determine how they can build a strong community and what that looks like within the walls of GSL. We also want to be a strong part of the community and work with others to create Christ-centered relationships.
Community Partnerships
GSL values mutually beneficial community partnerships as an integral part of the school culture. Community starts in the home and at school where students, parent, and teacher collaborations is an essential part of the rhythm of learning. Students and teachers partner with a variety of cultural and industrial resources on a local level in the greater Zimmerman, Elk River, Rogers and Otsego area to both enhance students’ learning and to add student’s voices and ideas to the local community. In the digital age, community is no longer confined to the home, school, and city; it now encompasses the whole world. Students and staff at GSL High School engage with this broader community by obtaining information, contributing ideas, and collaborating with other members near and far to solve complex problems. The teachers, learners, networks, connections, media, resources, and tools create a unique entity that has the potential to meeting individual learners’, educator’, and even societal needs. “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 ESV).
